Mike (name changed), my sister's boyfriend, came with us to dinner last night. he is studying something along the lines of communications and has accepted an internship with Chicago's NBC 5 which he will start on Monday. He will have to wake up at 3:00 am three days of the week because he will be working for one of the news anchors on their morning show. The news anchor's name is Dick Johnson. Our conversation went something like this:

me: so how in this day and age does one call himself Dick Johnson?
mike: yeah I don't know, he does have a doubly phallic name.
me: so what are you going to be doing with this Dick Johnson?
mike: i hear i'm going to be like his right-hand man.
me: sounds like you'll be getting the shaft.

then we shared a good laugh.
