i think in all my years as a temp this has been the most fun assignment.
everyone in this office is so nice and fun to work with. i think the
best was when i was at AAP because i made more money and was busy most
of the time. but that was a much bigger office and many times i'd leave
for the day without saying goodbye to anyone. here there's always
someone in the office at the end of the day. today it's been all talk
of "what kind of krispie kremes do you like? what kind of cookies do you
want?" because tomorrow is my last day. also, the new administrative
assistant started on tuesday and is in the office today and tomorrow.
so i am kind of feeling like a lame duck. i should bring in some more
magazines for the downtime tomorrow, i have a feeling i won't have too
much to do. actually, today was probably my busiest day so far here,
because Nancy was going through all the office procedures with the new
assistant, so i was left to answer the phones. fortunately the only
people who call here are nursing supervisors, doctors, and the
occasional funeral director. and the occasional lost patient looking
for living will/power of attorney forms.
so i'm left to make my second blog entry of the day. i'm kind of
amazed that nobody in the office is talking about what happened this
morning in london. i guess everyone's too busy. i found out first
thing this morning when, instead of using the steamer, i used the S's
computer that has internet (finally!) and signed onto AIM. i hate the
AIM today thing that pops up, but the headline caught my attention and i
directed myself to the new york times. i'm not going to comment yet as
i've been away from any news source the entire day (except when i was
coming in from lunch and walked past the lobby tv that had CNN on it
with live london coverage. i assume it's been that way all day.)
