the biggest bullshitter of them all!

is me!

no, not really. but i've been overwhelmed with paperwork and planning since i started that i was not all that prepared to meet with all the parents.

i am impressed though; all of my parents showed up tonight! (for the uninformed: today and tomorrow morning are parent-teacher conferences.) and of course, the parents of the really good students were the ones who told me about the things they're doing at home. and i love when the parents understand the importance of education. i was surprised that juan's mom came, though i was pretty happy to meet with her. she said she doesn't read so well. aha now i understand why his level is low, maybe he's not reading at home. that's a'ight, i'll give him more reading work.

so i kind of winged it. i need to start giving tests. math test on wednesday - hold me to it! this weekend i'll write it because the first chapter is so long. plus i'll go over the standards and see which things they need to know.

happy point of the day: the mom of one of my anglo girls told me that she's doing a lot better than she was last year (the girl is i mean.) apparently she didn't want to go back to this school (her twin brother goes to a different one where he is not in the dual-language program.) but now they say she looks forward to it. i was very happy to hear that.

but alas, i have lost my schedule! damn, i always lose things; it went to the black hole where all the important papers go! but i know that i have three conferences, in the morning, but i can't remember when the first one is! so better safe than sorry, i'll get there at 8:00 and spend the extra time cleaning up and putting on name tags. yeeeeah.
