yes i WILL have a nice weekend, thankyouverymuch!

thanks to the uninformed parent who let his/her child loose in the school while he/she should have stayed home! now i have another extended weekend!

in other words, this morning my eye started watering. just my left one. it came and went. but when i was at yoga it started watering again, and this time ended up goopey. so i went with my gut and waited an hour and a half in the "24-hr immediate care" center. i figured since i am a teacher and pink eye is known to run rampant in schools where the great majority of the parents didn't even finish middle school, there was a great likelihood i may have gotten it.

there's this one kid in my class that is starting to make my skin crawl. hopefully not physically! every time i look over at his desk, he is licking his mouth, and since before xmas break has had the entire area around his mouth within licking distance covered in a rash. and now he has it on his hands. seriously, if it were just a case of chapped skin it would have been gone. but now he has it on both of his hands! ewwwwwwwwwwwww he gave me animal cookies this morning and this afternoon i was so hungry i ALMOST grabbed the bag... but then i remembered who had given them to me and recoiled in disgust!

but i feel fine; this is the perfect use of a sick day!

i do feel nauseaus though thinking about all the germs that are living in my classroom... ech!
