ready? well, if you were me, you might have thought to yourself when you saw the picture of these shoes in Vogue... hmm those look like the ALPARGATAS i brought home from argentina the last time i was there (january 2006). oh, oh wait. (and as you dig into the short article) ahHA, the guy WAS in argentina when he had this idea!
and i sigh with satisfaction: only more reason for designers to try products on ME because everything i tend to notice and bring into my wardrobe (ok, closet) so strangely becomes something someone is trying to sell! like these shoes! like other examples that i can't name right now! and even though i laugh at the price of these shoes (US$38) and the fact that they cost more or less TEN TIMES what i paid for mine (AR$15 i think), i would still buy a pair. why? well with every pair you order, another pair is donated to someone who needs them. ingenious!
