it's always SOMETHING!

good lawd! not a week after i start my new job under a great administration THE SCHOOL DISTRICT STEALS THE PRINCIPAL (who happens to be the wachovia principal of the year) AND PUTS HIM AT ANOTHER SCHOOL! and to a high school no less.

he is a great leader (and this isn't rhetoric, it's just my impression formed over the past few weeks) - and he actually has a vision and not just a long script of talk. he would have been the principal of the first school i've ever worked at whose principal had been there LONGER THAN THREE YEARS. i was actually excited that i'd finally be able to work in a place headed in a positive direction with great leadership.

from the charlotte observer:

Ellis' (the principal at the other school) departure would come as Gorman tries to boost test scores at Waddell and three other low-performing schools -- Garinger, West Charlotte and West Mecklenburg. Gorman announced plans in September that raised the possibility of firing principals.

If Waddell gets a new principal, it would be the fourth at the five-year-old school. The school's students are mostly low-income, black or Latino, and their pass rate on state tests was below 60 percent last school year..

so... i'm upset. but i'll let the principal at my school know that if he needs a lateral-entry esl person to remember me.
