"...an invitation to disaster"

wednesday's presidential debate:
after the first two i began to notice patterns; candidate x would use the words "wrong war at the wrong time" repeatedly as if it were the only thing he had; i myself would shout "OH MY GOD!" at various times. So this time around i decided i would keep a tally of these things. Even though this one was about domestic policy, i figured candidate x was still dumb enough to use all those W words, so i included them on my tally. also on my list was the L word (not lesbian, though it was used in the course of the debate; Leftist). surprizingly enough the W words were not used once, but several L words were (left bank, lesbian). really, do candidate x's followers really know, understand, or care what "left bank" even means?

I used the words, or explitive rather, "OH MY GOD!" only once wednesday night; it was after candidate X said, when they were talking about gay marriage, immediately after he preaches tolerance, that "we should not have to change our views/values on the sanctity of marriage" (or something along those lines, i don't remember word for word what he said. hello hypiocrite? i mean, he just gets finished talking about how we should be tolerant of other beliefs and then he says that OUR (who's???) beliefs are in the sanctity of marriage... what if in my religion we don't believe in marriage? what if i believe that marriage is a union between say a dog and a cat? what if we believe that everyone should have two spouses?

i was also disappointed by one of the debate questions; it was about the apparent shortage in the flu vaccine over which everyone is making such a god damn huge overblown fuss. how could they differ on what to do? maybe the real test in this question was how either candidate could flip it around and twist it into something off-topic that still makes them look good ...?

and about that; am i alone in my belief that they are making way too much of a news story over this shortage of flu vaccine? not once in my life have i gotten it. i'm not saying i never get sick (i work in an elementary school!). but it's too much trouble to make a doctor's appointment and then have to take off half a day of work to go get a shot that may or may not keep me from getting sick. it's easier just to deal with the inconvenience of being sick. speaking of being sick - my cold gland is starting to get swollen and i have a headache. i was in bed all evening yesterday - i didn't even check my email! but look, here i am at work, i feel ok, probably should go take some tylenol, but i'm here. i am really glad it's friday though.

when i checked my email this morning i was hoping for it to be filled with emails from friends. i was so disappointed! it was all junk mail! since wednesday evening i have recieved nothing but junk mail! does anyone care???

and now to start my friday... it can't be too bad, i got my nametag yesterday!
