hm this is going to be random, i'm not sure if i'll have a point tonight ;-)
one advantage to having a degree: you can get your substitute teacher certificate in Illinois and then be an official tutor for School District X, where they pay you $27.10 per hour for tutoring homebound kids (those who are out of school for an indefinite amount of time). this is almost two times what i charge independently. and they need someone to tutor this one boy in physics. nice! and for each subject you tutor per person, you get an extra, paid "prep time" hour. Two hours (well with prep time, only one!) and my sub certificate will have paid for itself.
Aurora Borealis gone crazy! haha i'm such a nerd. i still haven't seen it recently, yet i keep hearing it being reported on the weather. interestingly enough the only person at school to acknowledge this phenomenon has been the Gifted teacher - she has printouts of recent photos taped to the windows of her classroom. i say interesting because this illustrates the general apathy i see towards the sciences among regular teachers in general. here you have this cool phenomenon that you can SEE that could introduce concepts such as the SUN (and SOLAR WIND) and the EARTH and its MAGNETIC FIELD! From that you can introduce the idea of a COMPASS and how it works, etc. there are so many directions you could take! it's a springboard!
WTF is with the new nissan pathfinder? it looks like a freaking box. must every SUV aim towards the look of the stupid ass H2? i apologize, i've just seen the commercials and it is SO UGLY!
oh, i really may be leaving in June. anybody heard of Bridge Linguatec schools? considering doing a TEFL certificate in Santiago, Chile (or Buenos Aires) for a month then looking for a job teaching english. what i'd have to decide is if the 1500 tuition would be worth it. i guess it could be if i am desperate enough to get out of the country. the thought of it makes my mouth water - honestly. i don't understand this tendency of mine to want to leave. this time you couldn't even argue that it may have to do with some boy - but in a sense it does - some FRAT BOY who somehow ended up our PRESIDENT. haha, had to take my daily strike at Mr. X.
where has my friend the andean love child gone? last i knew he was in one of those states that shares its name with another, the only difference being their respective latitudes. haha riddle for the day - only there are four possible answers.
this is honestly going nowhere right now - i was going to write about the various boys i could have loved but circumstances never allowed - but that requires too much thought and thought is not what i am about right now. don't really know why. the Lawyer sent me an email from the airport in NY - seems like a busy man, flying around the country for "interviews." i bet he's a traficante. ha ha ha. ooh, i could be a traficante's mistress - that would be exciting.
my sister told me her boyfriend wanted my email address. i really hope it is about something as inconsequential as our ever-approaching trip across the pond (and not asking my advice on such grave issues as ring size, platinum or gold? etc). that would throw a very massive wrench in the workings of my mind and completely tangle the well-organized web of my feelings or of my percieved feelings about such situation. JPB is right, dejate de joder y venite para Argentina.
which reminds me, leaving could help me achieve my lifetime goal: to see the Aurora Australis.
(that's not my lifetime goal, i don't have one, but i would be very satisfied if i were to see the southern lights)
