anyone from vt?

so apparently in vermont there is a battle going on for a senate seat... independent bernie sanders versus republican richard tarrant. i will let you sort things out for yourself, but check out the following:

like any claim that someone "supports x,y, or z" because of how he/she voted, it must be taken with a grain of salt and in light of the context. even when i heard the allegations that tarrant makes about sanders, i thought, there must have been some detail of the bill with which he was not in agreement. saying your opponent supports child molesters is asinine, puerile, and just ass-holey. not to mention it distorts the facts and tries to scare people. but scaring people is contrary to democracy - it's lawmakers that oppose certain parts of bills (parts they feel are unconstitutional) even when it might look bad that keep this country from turning into a facist kleptocracy. i hope the people of vermont see what i see in those ridiculous campaign ads.

anyway, if you want to see actual numbers of bills (ie, HR1104) there is this site that answers a lot of questions regarding tarrants allegations (you get to choose which issue to read about via links on the left hand side). it takes a while to find the actual bill numbers but keep reading and you'll get there.

for those more adept at finding cited legislation there's sanders' house webpage and also the library of congress' search engine, Thomas, for those who are really advanced.
