colombia-lit

so i just finished reading Rosario Tijeras and it was very good (muchas gracias a mi novio caleño que me ayudó aprender colombiano). it has been made into a movie. which also looks very good. oh, i'm pretty sure it hasn't been released in the us so make sure your read the book before you even see the previews.

those of you familiar with colombian artist Juanes... you will have that song in your head the whole time you read this... siempre un dolor la siguio todo fue porque en su niñez un mal_____ la violó y ella se vengó
... y confundió el amor, una bala lo que entró su corazón
that´s me trying to recite the lyrics from memory - and it´s been quite a while since i lost my copy of un día normal. (andean... do you still have it? can you send me a copy? i´ll trade you a copy of that album for my copy of the book...)

***CORRECTION... that song is actually on his latest album, mi sangre. here is where you can get just a taste of it...(actually first you have to click on ENTRAR SITIO and then select DISCOGRAFIA)***

oh, sorry anglos, your version can be found here.

yet another reason why you should learn spanish - the ability to read things in their original language (for some things english just is not the language that best conveys what one wants to say)
