13 is my favorite number

today is my birthday and thus far my phone has rung ONCE... but that's ok because among my birthday presents (they are piled on the plastic covering of the cake my grandparents brought over) is a $900 check from dad.

ok you can sit back down. for a second i thought, is he crazy? hitting his mid-life crisis? but then i remembered. he owed me that much from our trip to London. but still, it's nice to have a big check like that to have to take to the bank!

they asked me what i wanted... all i could come up with was 1.) the platinum ring 2.) a gym membership and 3.) new running shoes (henceforth i will adopt the british "trainers" because it's less to type and easier to say). from the looks of it, it's all money. and i think what i really REALLY want FOR REAL is a bag of Lay's Kettle Cooked Salt and Vinegar Potato Chips. it has been like three weeks. must have some!

and my face is aglow because i just went tanning. i love tanning. hate how i smell though. my family is taking me to a fondue restaurant tonight... mmmmm it's been so long! i'm excited!
