this season's gauchos?

these are called babuchas and all the girls were wearing them. i mean, EVERYONE! could these be the new gauchos? they are very comfortable. and these pants also happened to be my very last purchase in buenos aires. and oddly enough i found them at the indumentaria store around the corner from the house where i was staying. i asked what sizes they said and the girl told me son talle unico. they only come in one size. do we think they will make it here? i'm not sure. one day in spring i would like to wear these to the mall and check out people's reactions. it would be interesting because i have seen NOBODY here wearing these. i'll have to wait till spring to see what comes out. but truth be told, i can see why they wear these, they are super comfortable and also very easy to fit. i mean they're one-size and they fit ME. the waistband can fold down, and the tapers at the bottoms can be worn just below the knee or even at the ankle should one choose. but it looks kind of eighties-ish when they're down at the ankles. anyway as the days get warmer and i have more opportunities to wear these, i'll keep track of the looks i get (or don't get.)
