D-Day

it is accomplished - the other day i finally went to Posh Day Spa in B-ton and got my hair cut. nothing drastically different, just cleaned up the bangs and cut about three inches off the longest layer. i should have taken less off but oh well, it'll grow. i like the idea of having some hair really long and then layered so it's all different lengths (but not in mullet-fashion.) so that has been THE HIGHLIGHT of my week thus far. they actually give you SCALP MASSAGES while they're washing your hair. it was amazing! the girl who cut my hair told how funny it is when guys come in to get their hair cut - they get really uncomfortable when it comes to the scalp massage. she told me that one guy who came in commented that his hairdresser "gives really good head... um, i mean, head massages!"

what else can be commented... today was D-Day for The Principal. well, the lady who is doing all the surveys was in to interview every person. they said they were going to talk to every person, but they could not fit everyone into one day. thus, i was excluded along with all the other aides minus one. i heard that some people even were not showing up at their appointed times. we said they are just shooting themselves in the foot then, because those who have a problem with The Principal are definitely going to make sure they are heard. also, there are rumors that two teachers (one who has been there forever and is 1 year from retirement, the other a reading specialist) have said they would not return next year if The Principal returns.

in other education news, i have been asked to tutor yet another student in geometry. for some reason, my boss over there told me, she always has a hard time finding math tutors. hm, wonder why. i mean, i haven't done formal geometry since high school, but have been using it forever in physics and calculus etc. so to go back to those theorems that are now like second nature to me is pretty easy. of course the challenge lies in helping another person see what i have known for years.

so that is about it. argentine #(what was that number?) is taking me out tonight; he told me to choose where to go so i will take him to my favorite tapas place downtown. but for now, i've gotta fill up my car and go to pilates. side note: it is amazing what pilates does for your body, you should see it! (hahaha)

Are you willing to share your tapas restaurant's name? I have tried Tapas Barcelona and Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba, but if you know of a better place, please share!

Oh, and enjoy your date.

it's cafe iberico... i go there all the time. babareeba is good too - i esp loved their chocolate dessert - i don't remember what it was because i was so wrapped up in how good it was! iberico is bigger and loud and there are always lots of people there. it's fun!

and my date was OK, he was picky about the tapas! he refused to eat the croquetas de pollo because it was "fried food." oh well, more for me!
