today at school, teachers were jumping up and down.
puzzled children struck silent for once looked clueless around the room and then back at each other.
"is there going to be an ice cream party?" they ask the aide in the room.
"i don't know; we'll find out sooner or later."
if you haven't already inferred it, The Principal is definitely leaving effective 30 June. apparently the school board gave her two options: retire or RETIRE! many teachers are very happy about this. i myself am neutral; i have never had a problem with The Principal directly, but i have seen first hand her lack of professionalism (ie, the surveys ca. november to which she asked us to sign our names!)
needless to say it has been an interesting start to the week.
i have also been assigned three new students on homebound leave. here is the count: one i tutor in geometry-c, one in geometry-b, one in trig, and one in physics, algebra-IIb, and spanish 4 honors. oops, i mis counted. i figured i could take one subject per day but alas, there are six. will have to tutor algebra and physics on the same day, or maybe physics and spanish. yeah, a difficult one with an easy one (if i were jane eyre i could be a governess. i am such a geek!) ok. now i just have to arrange with everyone. things are going to get a little more hectic, or i will just have to get my shit together better. i am thinking that saturdays after yoga and while i'm doing my laundry i will prepare for all this. i rationalize this with the fact that there are only four (+/- 1) weeks left of school, and i could use this extra hefty chunk of change for my trip to california (yeah, did i mention i am going next weekend? my cousin's wedding, in LA. i am so excited, get to wear my pink silk dress!!!! yayyy!)
