random asides

ok, so i'm vain and conceited and i just wanted a picture to post here because i'm so excited that blogger finally got it's shit together to make it easy for the html-illiterate to post pictures. not that i'm completely illiterate (it's like if we're talking about reading i know like two letters of the alphabet) but i posted most of my pictures before using hello and getting the text wrap by cut and pasting from other people's pages (obviously making adjustments to include MY OWN pictures.)

i have mixed feelings about this picture. i look kind of long-faced but i like way the sun is right there in my eyes.

other things i like right now:

- the library. ok call me a geek. but you can rent dvds for free (and ones that aren't produced by hollywood as well!) i got "intimate strangers" (forgot the title in french) because i'm not getting enough french spoken to me in my french class. need to supplement it with movies and such. came home with three books today. since i have (hopefully only) a few days off, i can just sit by the pool and read all day. read all day naked if the house happens to be empty ;-)

- avocado. i love it. on bread, on crackers, on salt-and-vinegar chips. love it love it love it.

- honey. but not your standard clover honey. i like the light blonde acacia honey. i found some at world market that is from austria. it's delicious. i have it in my tea instead of sugar. today, i had it on a bagel instead of cinnamon. that's something you should try - butter and honey on a toasted bagel. mmmm.

-(aside) when i stayed at my friend's house in chile, his mother mixed avocado and honey and ate that on toast. not sure the two mix all that well, but if i mixed butter and honey today i guess it could happen.

perhaps this is a sign that i should go to the fridge and heat up some of the chinese food left over from tonight?
