remedial communications

communication in my present district is bad.

they didn't know i was starting the day i started, and they didn't know which day i was leaving until this afternoon, the day before my last day.

everyone (non-teachers) is complaining about how hard it is going to be to replace me. Mrs O said something like that and i said, yeah it's going to be hard to find someone who can always turn any conversation into something bordering on inappropriate.

everyone (teachers) is congratulating me on "getting a job." as if what i was doing before weren't a real job!

trust me, my non-certified friends, i will not become a snobbish catty teacher who doesn't introduce herself to you when you first meet and i will always consider support staff as part of the team and possessing of REAL JOBS!

ha. HA. economically, being a teacher isn't the most highly regarded state of affairs... but you know what? i am not a pecuniary snob - i am a knowledge/learning/intelligence/big words snob. my wealth lies in my mind (it's all in my head!!!!!)... it earns interest AND is never taxed!

something to chew on.
