mysteries of the universe, II

why do i have such an innocent, clean view of the world? i complained today at the polling place that i couldn't vote for one democrat AND one republican. i mean, i'm registered under neither party, and i believe that we should have the two best candidates from which to choose instead of having to choose between the lesser of two evils.

but my dad reminded me today that if we could vote bi-partisan-ly, people from the opposite party would vote in the primaries for the worst candidate, so that theirs might win. so we would still have to choose between two evils.

damn, that's right!

(oh, by the way, i went democrat today because i am dissatisfied with our buddy rod.)
