confession

is it odd that i find Mahmoud Ahmadinejad attractive, despite that it is widely known that he is very short? you might call me crazy but i think it's great that he challenged chimpie to a debate; for the pride of my country i'm glad chimpie and/or his handlers did not respond because he would have lost - people would be wooed into finding ahmadinejad attractive while chimpie would be booed off the stage.

it's just that i saw him on 60 minutes a few weeks ago and was charmed. i suppose i should do some investigating to understand why he is considered such a threat.

but really, debate would be such a great way to settle differences and disagree gracefully.

i was going to post something re: yesterday. i wrote every detail i could remember on paper. I find it incredibly sad that the first responders who have come down with chronic conditions due to inhaling powdered everything call themselves, as i heard on sixty minutes this week, "heroes to zeroes."

five years ago my bubble burst and i realized how ashamed i was of having voted republican in 2000 (though it didn't matter) in illinois... the president had a permanent scared-out-of-his-mind expression every time he spoke. and when he spoke... it was frustrating! he would use so many words (and so many phrases over and over and over) without saying ANYTHING! i would mute the tv anytime he came on, preferring to hear colin powell's voice which was much more tolerable (texas accent makes me cringe now) and he seemed to be more under control, or like he knew what he was doing.

shame on you, mister president, for using a national tragedy for your political gain. al franken called it bush's "little black dress" (in the truth, with jokes) - ie, as little black dresses are appropriate for almost any occasion, so the president uses 11 september as an excuse/reason for everything.

your house of cards is falling down. more and more people are stepping up and speaking out against you, holding you to account the way you say you'll hold "evildoers" to account for their crimes; you will be held to account for your crimes.

shame on you for relying on keeping the public afraid to keep yourself in office. i think it would have been most appropriate for you not to have said anything, not to have used a nation's suffering for infinite photo-ops.
