18? days till the days get longer.

1. how did people keep their hair looking presentable back when there was no such thing as central air or plumbing inside your palace? like in the winter when it was too cold to get nekked, how did they stay clean?

2. the primary reason for not going to yoga this morning is that i am in exactly the same situation. although it's not too cold in the house, we have central air AND plumbing, i felt that my hair is too gross to present even at the gym. and taking a shower before going to the gym is ludicrous because i'll just be going in the steam room afterwards. plus it is VERY cold outside and being that i would wash my hair seemingly in vain i would not take the time to dry it so in my walk from car to gym it would freeze on my head (yes, long hair really does that!)

3. also my stomach hurts because i did not swallow a couple of pills properly last night (again, it was too cold for me to leave the cozy confines of my down comforter AND quilt, so i popped them in my mouth and swallowed the last bit of water left at my bedside. or maybe it was those 1.5 mojitos i had last night coming back up my esophagus to keep me from forgetting them?

4. am planning to plan like mad this weekend for the weeks ahead - namely, the last two weeks before christmas vacation and the first week back as i will be missing most of it. and i'd like to have everything all planned out because i'll need to do some christmas shopping (minimal - only for those that get a real thanks - the people who do my pedicures, the girl who cuts my hair twice a year, the assistants that help me, the social worker who has helped me exceedingly with my angelito) and packing.

5. isn't this a great option and much less of a hassle: instead of giving christmas gifts to each other within my family, we're going to donate the money we would otherwise have spent on ourselves collectively to a charity. we may adopt a family but i'd prefer to just send a big check and let other people do the hassle of actually buying stuff for people.

6. am going to Gu3ss this evening. a (much much younger as in younger than my sisters) friend from my french class works there and gave me a card to get 30% off. so maybe i will see what they have there that i could add to my summer wardrobe? or would the proper name be resort because i'm planning on wearing clothes from said wardrobe while on vacation in south america this holiday season, even though it won't be at a resort?
